Keira sighed as she walked to class. Another long day in this silly, boring school. At least there were people to talk to. The pretty brunette would probably die of boredom if there werent. She took her seat in 11th grade Lit, reading for the profound essay she was going to have to make up that day. She turned her blue eyes to the door, waiting to see how many people would slide in just as the late bell rang.

Just before the late bell, Haseo walked In and took a seat by Keira, noticing that she already had all of her work out in front of her, completed. Something Haseo could never do In english: complete his homework. He wanted to ask her if she could help him with his english homework sometime, but the bell rang and class started. To Haseo, the teacher dragged on and on about nothing he would ever care about, while Keira was making lots of notes on what the teacher was explaining.

Keira turned her eyes to Haseo, a light smirk gracing her lips. The girl had never really spoken to the teen next to her. He seemed to be a decent enough student, but he always looked a little panicked as he walked in. "You know, if you ever need help, I'm willing right?" she smiled sweetly as she made the offer. Keira had noticed him often thinking about things a little harder than necessary, and she felt it would be acceptable to offer him a little help.

Haseo looked at Keira, amazed that someone as smart as her would talk to an average student like himself and said "That would be great thanks, I really appreciate it. Could you help me on today's homework? It seems a little tough." For some reason Haseo felt like he just asked her out, but then remembered that it was for school work, not a date.

She smiled lightly and let out a small, good natured laugh at his nervousness. "Sure I'll help you. Here." she handed him a slip of paper with her address on it. "My house, right after school if you can. We can go over whatever you need help with."

"Ok then, I'll stop by today and go over today's homework with you." Later that day, Haseo went to the address he was told. "Hi, is Keira there?" he asked as a tall, blonde haired man stepped out of the door. "Who?" "Um, Keira, Sir, is she home?" "You must have the wrong house, she's next door." "Oh, ok thanks." Feeling embarrased, Haseo went to the next door down while reading the address she gave him and realizing that he read the number wrong. Not watching where he was going, he tripped over a large rock and fell flat on his face. He wanted things to go perfectly for once. Unfortunately fate had different plans...

Keira smiled as she opened the door. "Hey there Haseo" she walked over to him and offered her hand. "Want some help getting up?"

Haseo then jumped up without grabbing her hand and trying to act cool. "Uh, yeah, I'm fine ha ha... So we had plans to help me with my english homework, correct?"

"Right, we did. Come on, lets go inside." She smirked and led him in, going into the den and taking a seat on the comfortable couches. "Alright then, what is it you need?"

"Well, I don't understand the theme of Romeo and Juliet, can you explain it to me?" Haseo said as he sat next to Keira.

"Of course.... As you know, Romeo and Juliet are deeply deeply in love- or so they think. A huge theme of this play is haste. Romeo and Juliet are only 13, and in two days they are madly in love. Completely unrealistic- and they jumped to conclusions on ever-" Keira suddenly stopped as she leapt up out of her seat, looking around.
A loud bang was heard knocking on her front door. Keira knew that knock. "Umm Haseo... you might wanna hide or leave..." she said cautiously, the sixteen year olds face suddenly changing from calm to battle ready. Keira ran to the door and opened it.
A man about three years older than Keira stood on the other side. He had a slight psychotic look in his eye and a smirk on his lips. "Hello there Keira..." he laughed lightly and then wrapped his hands around Keira's neck, slamming her against the wall and holding her there. "Shall I give the speech this time or just finally kill you?"

Haseo did as she asked and hid. When he heard a thud from outside of his hiding spot and peeked out only to watch what was happening out there. He could not stand it any longer, so he sprang out of his hiding spot and charged at the man.

"Haseo no!" Keira yelled as she saw him running towards her brother. The man turned with a grin and moved aside, out of the way of Haseo.
"Whoever you are kid, and whatever connection you have with my sister, I'd advise you stay out of this..." He smirked slightly.
"Dareth, stop it. This is between me and you, and I know you... you are going to hurt him." Keira glared at him harshly and punched the Dareth in the stomach, using the moment to free herselves from his grip. As soon as she was far enoguh away, she ran between Haseo and Dareth. Suddenly, large black and red feathered wings sprouted from her back. "You came her to kill me did you? Well too bad, I'm going to fight back!"

Haseo falls flat on his face yet again feeling stupid... But then he realizes he is in danger and jumps back to his feet only to become wide-eyed seeing that Keira had wings. "You can fly!?!?" Haseo exclaimed with shock and curious tone. Haseo always wanted to know what it would be like to fly, but his abilities are mostly limited to speed.

"Yeah I can... family curse...." Keira turned to Haseo for only a moment and then went back to the issue at hand. Dareth hadn't launched any real attacks. That seemed odd. Perhaps he wanted to play a little bit longer...
Just as this thought crossed Keira's mind, the brown haired man grinned a toothy grin as he pulled out a very odd and specific looking gun. "You know what this is right...?"
Her eyes widened. It was a gun that she knew all too one- the one thing that she had to truly fear. Normal guns could be dodged, wounds could heal. This was a gun where healing was not an option. "Shit." she said simply, frozen in her spot.

"Curse? More like a gift..." as Haseo was about to become lost in his imagination, he snapped back to reality and finally realizing that he should do something about the situation at hand. After seeing Keira sprout wings, he felt completely comfortable about pulling out his dual guns that he was given as a child out of his backpack. Haseo had actually given a name to these precious guns of his, the Empty Sarasvati Souls. The guns draw off of the life and will of the wielder so small pain can usually be felt while using them. Haseo raises the guns and fires 8 shots at Dareth.

Dareth dodged most, but two hit him- one in his shoulder and one to his thigh. "Dammit Keira, why'd you have to go and get a guardian!" he growled slightly and put his gun away. The man quickly ran out the door- well as fast as he could with an injured leg.
Keira slammed the door behind him and turned to Haseo. "Well now... I think we both need explanations..."

"I guess so... but first: You can fly!! That's so cool! I've always had dreams about flying! However I heard you say it was a curse, what makes you say that?" Haseo said as he put the E.S.S away.

"It's a family thing, Started a long long time ago. Some fight in the middle ages caused a witch to curse my family with its own constant war. Basically, the first born- Dareth- is a normal child until the second kid is born- me. The two always fight and fight, eventually blowing up when the second born gets these wings. Yes, I can fly, but they make me vulnerable to his gun- the one that puts me in a permanent hell if the bullet makes contact."
"Dareth's life mission is to kill me. My life mission? To survive and hunt down and kill the decendents of the witch. They die, the curse ends. Unfortunately, theres an awful lot of them. How about you.. why do you have guns in your bookbag?"

"Wow, I never would have guessed at your past... But as for my guns..." *Jumps to flashback* "Before I was abandoned by my father, who had killed my mother, at the age of 4 I was sent into training for my father's army. I was given those guns as my weapons to join the army. At that early age, the rest of the children were also put into training. The ones who were weak and couldn't serve in the army were caged and taken out into the "Desert of Death" as my mother called it, where the sandstorms ripped the very flesh off of the kids' bones... At that time it was being decided weather or not I should be allowed to join the army. Thank god for my mother, she convinced my father to let me join and not be killed. After that day I was serving my father's army for 4 years, until my father killed my mother and abandoned me. The soldiers tossed me out into the desert, but lucky for me, a kind family was traveling the desert while the sandstorms were at bay. The family took me in and cared for me. It was there that I was taught how to focus my muscle power all into my legs so I could move 5 times as fast as a human could and jump 13 feet in the air. To this day I still live with that kind family. *Flashback stops* And that's why I still have the guns, I always have them with me, but haven't had to take them out for 8 years."
