Name: Scarlett Lynette Maree Rodes
Age: 22
Race: A member of the Davy Jones’s crew
Element: Fire
Home Dimension: Pirates of the Caribbean
Abilities:
Flamestrike: Rather simple, really. Scarlett can light any weapon on fire whenever she uses it. The fire does not burn her or her comrades. It does, however, burn any enemies to the ground. Also if she gets really emotionally distraught, she can create an arena of fire that constantly burns her enemies the whole duration of the battle. It lasts until she wins or gets unconscious.
Appearance: Scarlett has royal blue eyes with a small yellow ring around the center, causing that part to appear green occasionally. She has a very Scandinavian look to her face with high cheekbones, plump lips. Her hair is thick and golden blonde, with a gentle wave to it. Sometimes she wears it down and others she puts it up in a high ponytail. Scarlett is very beautiful, once the dirt and sea grime is washed off. She has the lithe build of someone who is used to laboring and such. Many a lord has wondered why Scarlett chose the role of pirate rather than demure lady. The one thing that doesn’t fit on her beautiful form is
Scarlett wears, when not in world garb, tight black pants with knee high pirate boots. Her top is of satin cloth. It’s an off the shoulder number with roof sleeves. She wears a bright red sash around her waist that ties with sashes all the way down to her ankles. Occasionally Scarlett wears a caplet style jacket (one that only covers the shoulders and arms.)
History: Scarlett was born and christened Scarlett Lynette Maree Rodes. Her mother was Lynette Calloway, and her father Ferdinand Rodes. He was the leader of a merchant company. Scarlett was raised in privilege, with nothing being denied her. She was betrothed to a Leopold Randersvayne. He was at least twice her age and only wanted to marry her because of her beauty. Scarlett couldn’t bear to marry him, for she was in love with someone else.
His name was Gabriel Jameson. His hair was flaxen just like hers, his eyes nearly clear they were such a light blue. They had always been good friends. As they grew, so did their relationship. It morphed from friendship to a little more to love. Every night they would meet, Scarlett leaving from her balcony to go to the arms of her angel. One night, when Scarlett was fifteen, Leopold caught them sneaking away. He told Scarlett’s parents the truth of their relationship. They were infuriated. That night, after Scarlett returned, they sent the militia after Gabriel, claiming he had raped Scarlett.
When she found this news out, Scarlett ran into her brother’s room and quickly put his clothes on. Dresses were too hard to save someone’s life in. She ran away after then, chasing them down and tracking them by the sound of their heavy boots. Scarlett came up through their ranks as they cornered Gabriel. She ran in front of them, holding her already injured lover in her arms. Scarlett began to cry as she begged the militia to spare her ill fated lover. They refused. Even though Scarlett pushed him to the ground in a kiss, guarding his body with her own, one of the soldiers ran up and stabbed him through the heart, right through Scarlett’s own shoulder. He died in her arms. His blood soaked her brother’s clothes, and from that day forward she swore that scarlet red was her color, the color of his blood and her namesake.
She dropped her other names and now goes by Scarlett. That night, she didn’t return to her home. Instead, Scarlett ran to the dock and found a pirate ship. They had been recruiting earlier. In her grief she hurriedly joined the ship and went out to the seven seas. One day, less than a year after setting sail they were found out by the commodore. Her ship went down. The commodore didn’t recognize Scarlett, so she wasn’t even spared. Nearly drowned and completely waterlogged, Scarlett was pulled up onto the deck of the Flying Dutchman. Its new captain, Will Turner, could see in her eyes that the girl needed… something… also something inside him told him to save her, like she needed to exist. He decided to offer her the chance to live forever. When Scarlett weakly accepted, Will turned her into one of his crew. Since he did his job however, she remained beautiful.
She was nearly sixteen when this happened, and it was a lot to take in. Will, to was young, and he of all people knew what it was like to love forbiddenly. Scarlett recounted her story to him and in return, Will allowed her to stay on the ship with only minor duties. The two were friends, good friends. Scarlett was grateful to Will, and she could never explain to him the extent of her thanks. A few months after she turned sixteen, Scarlett learned of her future as a dimension jumper. She was thankful for this, it was an escape from her tragic homeland- a place she never hoped to see again. When she disappeared, Will knew that he had done right in saving her and that she was off on a mysterious journey, doing something important. He never held her disappearance against her.
Personality: Scarlett is a nice enough person. She’s a rebel, as her past demonstrates. Scarlett only rebels when she thinks something is wrong, however. If everything seems okay and fair, she’s fine. Scarlett does still feel the heavy pain of Gabriel’s death. It doesn’t show in her normal actions, and she doesn’t exactly tell anyone about it. It would take a complete break down, or someone she really trusted to get it out of her at this point in time. Scarlett is two people. The one who everyone knows and sees, the dimension jumper and pirate, and then the heartbroken, dead inside sixteen year old who missed out on the love guaranteed everyone by a selfish parent and an idiot soldier. She has lost everything and has no hope of getting very much back, but no one really knows that.
