On the out skirts of one of the many villages like towns that Johto held was a beautiful forest. A forest that many of the near by town's folk had talking about a rumor that was making the rounds about it. It had your standard affair of Pokemon that were common to the region, but there was some thing else too. Some thing that had brought about a lot of trainers recently was word that it was a resting place of a legendary Pokemon.
The mentioned trainers came far and wide from various towns, and even some came from the other countries. Some of them merely wanted to catch the creature for their own battle purposes. Others wanted to capture it and study it, to gain a better understanding of what made Pokemon tick. There were even some that wanted to capture it to try and breed it, in the process make a fortune off them.
Unfortunately for all of these trainers, one by one they had been taken out and left to hobble back to the near by town. None of them lasted a single week out there in their search for this Pokemon of rumors. Odd was the manner in how all of them had fallen too, none of them had actually seen what attacked them. Each time their visions blurred and soon after felt some thing attacks them from behind.
Another strange thing was about the actual rumor that was being spread about it, no one knew for certain what Pokemon it was. Every version of the rumor only made mention of a legendary Pokemon, and not which one it was to be precise. Even after word got out about the body count of failed trainers more just kept coming. The single upside for the near by town was that it got them more foreign visitors and was helping their markets.
Today that forest was relatively calm and peaceful, though it was still early in the morning. Most of the trainers in it that were hunting the legendary Pokemon were still asleep or were knocked out by it the night previous. Only the Butterfrees and Catarpees, Spearrows were the main sources of noise at this time of day. They were gathering food and other materials for the day ahead, amongst a few other types of Pokemon doing the same.
One such spot that they were doing this at was a small lake inside the forest, a local watering hole for them. Pokemon of various types and species were gathered at it and were surprisingly civil with each other. Most of them were just packs or flocks of common Pokemon, though there were a few fairly uncommon ones too. However, there was certainly not a single legendary Pokemon in amongst any of them right now.
A group of Mankeys paused what they were doing when they heard some thing near by. Each of them looked around while none of the other Pokemon had heard the sound it would seem. Several seconds passed and nothing happened, so the Mankeys shrugged it off and resumed what they were doing. They started to get so caught up in it they didn't even notice the bushes near them start to rustle.
"Food!" a clearly Humanoid voice shouted joyfully and a blurred figure leapt from the bushes and flew through the air. The Mankeys looked up just in time to see it tackle them to the ground and it pinned them. As they kicked and thrashed against the being's hold it tried to gnaw on them frantically and a bit playfully. Eventually the united pack of Mankeys managed to kick the person off of them and quickly ran away from it.
Lazily the figure rolled up onto its butt in a seated position on the ground and watched the Pokemon run away. "Hmm...no food..." it said in a disappointed and near pouty tone as it watched them. The being looked like a young boy and that was roughly some where between the ages of five to eight years old. Idly he rolled up onto one knee and got up, and in a care free nature brushed him off as some of the other Pokemon noticed him.
His appearance was a strange one to say the least; his black hair was wild and untamed as it went down to his knees. Yet, the young boy wore a black suit and leather shoes that looked like they were rather expensive. Underneath the suit's jacket was a white buttoned up shirt and his pants were kept up by an average belt. The young man's built was slightly chubby and he stood at three feet and ten inches, eleven inches with his shoes on.
"Food?" he blinked a few times, his strange wolf like eyes stared innocently at the Pokemon. A few of them sensed some thing was about to happen and started to slowly shuffle away from the boy. With a clueless expression he looked around until he spotted the Spearrows and grinned brightly, showing off his teeth. "Chickens!" he exclaimed happily and darted right for the Pokemon, his hands out stretched in front of him to snatch them.
"Chickens, chickens, chickens!" he squealed gleefully and rushed towards them, unnaturally fast for a boy of his age. The Pokemon's eyes widened and quickly they started to run as fast as they could. A few of them tried to fly, but with this being so sudden they could barely get off of the ground without a running start. "Chickens, chickens, chickens, I like chickens, and they taste yummy in my tummy!" he giggled happily as he chased after the poor Pokemon.
